Orange Peel Grabs

• Why an Orange Peel Grab?

An Orange Peel Grab (sometimes also called a Cactus Grab or Polyp Grab) will be used for materials which cannot be handled with for example a Clamshell Grab. Either the size of the handled materials is too big, or the penetration into the handled materials is better with an Orange Peel Grab. Depending on the size and type of the materials which will be handled with the Orange Peel Grab, these grabs can be executed with open shells, half closed shells or fully closed shells. Also the weight and execution of the Orange Peel Grabs depend on the materials which will be handled with the grab.  The Grab Specialist customizes her grabs for the required application.

The Grab Specialist manufactures the following types of operation:

• Mechanical Two Rope Operated Orange Peel Grabs

For Cranes which operate by means of 1 holding rope and 1 closing rope

• Mechanical Four Rope Operated Orange Peel Grabs

For Cranes which operate by means of 2 holding ropes and 2 closing ropes

• Hydraulic Orange Peel Grabs (for Hydraulic Machines or Excavators)
• Electro Hydraulic Orange Peel Grabs

For Cranes with only 1 Single hook, like Mobile Harbour Cranes, Ship   Cranes or Overhead Cranes. The cranes should be equipped with accessories for operation of these grabs.

• Diesel Hydraulic Orange Peel Grabs

For Cranes with only 1 Single hook, like Mobile Harbour Cranes or Ship Cranes. No accessories for operation required. These grabs are executed with a Diesel Hydraulic Power Unit and can simply be hooked and will operate with remote control.
